Backing The Truck Up #7 – Back to Otanewaiuku Forest

Otanewaiuku ForestA week after our first ramble in May in the Otanewaiuku Forest near Te Puke we went back to explore some more. Across the road from our first outing to the lookout is another loop track so we headed off on this one that time. The wonderful thing about these tracks is that they are real tracks. No gravel, no drains along the sides, not so obvious that you couldn’t wonder sometimes whether you were still on the track. It has small orange markers just to reassure you that you are on the right path. It’s like how many tracks used to be, until high use required more and more materials and constructions.

The track loops through lovely forest with huge tall trees (rimus and others) and lush undergrowth.
