From Nelson, we inched our way closer to Blenheim and work. We were enjoying our little bit of summer and were keen for all the sun and relaxation we could find. We were keen for some seaside sun and settled on Momerangi Bay. Being on Queen Charlotte Sound it is technically seaside, but without the surf and drama. Hopefully even peaceful.
We headed over the hills from Nelson to Havelock, and then took the Queen Charlotte Drive towards Picton. Not far past Linkwater and the start/head of Queen Charlotte Sound we arrived at Momerangi Bay. This is a small settlement with a DoC Camp with facilities. Here we could chose a parking site down by the water. Which we did. Which was wonderful.
I have enjoyed trying to capture some of the light patterns I see on water. Usually the photos don’t show what I thought I saw. At Momerangi Bay I took a few shots that evening – as the light changed and faded. I am very happy with the outcome this time. This one is a keeper.
