From Lake Rotoiti we headed for Nelson. Specifically to Mapua and the Mapua Leisure Park and a fitting funeral service for a former park owner and adventurer. For both of us it was a place of memories where we’d both camped many years ago. F Block is still F Block but it’s a different place when there’s hardly anyone else there.
From there we moved a few kilometres northwest, to the far end of Ruby Bay and the McKee Memorial Reserve. This reserve is beside the sea and a very reasonably priced place to park/camp for a couple of days. The sun mostly shone and we mostly relaxed, trying to catch up with some Summer.

Suzi motorhome at McKee Memorial Reserve at Ruby Bay. It’s wonderful to be able to park/camp close to the sea.
Reluctantly we had to start back eastwards, towards Blenheim and some more work. We waylaid ourselves in Nelson at the Tahuna Holiday Park at Tahunanui. It was our second visit of the “summer”, and not our last.

Modellers pond (or something) at Tahunanui. When we were there several months before it was drained and a digger was piling up all the weed for removal. It doesn’t seem to have been very successful. But it does look interesting.
