The weather down the Marlborough Sounds in November refused to clear up. And the forecast for Nelson always seemed to be “Fine weather with afternoon sea breezes”. So we loaded up the truck, and we moved to Tahunanui…. The Tahunanui holiday park at Nelson has a good off-peak deal for motorhomers so we decided to check it out. The sun did shine …. and it was good. We sat in the sun, we walked in the sun, we ate in the sun. Ahhh, sun …..
All too soon it was time to return to Blenheim for more relief motel management work. Then it was December and a couple of days off. We got out of Dodge City and headed out to the beach at Rarangi where we stayed in the DoC camp. The good news is that it has mobile coverage. The bad news is that it has mosquitoes. Quite a few. We went for a drive over the hill to Whites Bay to make sure it was as beautiful as ever. It was.
Then it was time to head south to Christchurch, for a sustained spell of relief motel management over Christmas and New Year. Once more we were launching into the unknown.
