Last week we went for a visit to Lake Hawea, driving from Dunedin through Central Otago. It was a novelty to be touring without our motorhome – we’d borrowed my son’s car. It was a bleak sort of day; cold with rain showers. It was afternoon before we finally headed off and we didn’t stop much – unless you count a u-turn to check out the wool shop in Roxburgh. We did pull over at Lake Dunstan to admire the new snow on the Pisa Range and we made a photo stop further up the road past Tarras. The late-afternoon light was calling me.
