Day 2 of our travels in South East Asia last year dawned in Butterworth after an overnight train trip north from Kuala Lumpur. A short ferry ride later we were on Penang Island and navigating through the streets of Georgetown to find somewhere to stay. Georgetown has been an important location historically and is an interesting city to walk around.
Early morning was a good time to arrive. Later it got hot and sunny – when only mad dogs and Kiwi tourists were not sitting in the shade of the trees.
